Piano's Personal History:

Beautiful Satin Ebony finish (i.e., matte black) Kawai Studio Piano for sale. 46" tall. Serial #497466. Model ST-3. (Basically the same school studio piano they have been making for decades, also known for the last 2 decades as the model UST-7. The ST-3, however, was actually built in Japan, rather than in Kawai's Lincolnton, North Carolina, plant, where the later UST-7's were built, (or rather than in Kawai's more recent Indonesian plant, where the new UST-9's are being built). (Many piano technicians consider Kawai's studio pianos built in Japan to be of higher quality - See Larry Fine's Piano Book, latest (red) edition. ) Purchased new in 1972. Owned by one family since that time. Has been lovingly cared for.

In very good condition inside and outside. Has been just recently tuned , cleaned, and serviced. Very little wear on parts, the hammers and felts look almost like new. Wonderful tone quality and touch. Comes with matching finish duet bench, and I also have the key for for the lock. This particular Kawai model studio piano has earned a reputation among professionals and music teachers for being one of the finest, as well as the most rugged and durable, institutional/school pianos ever made.
