condition reflected in its rating on this chart. Sales tax may
apply to California residents and an additional moving fee might

Brand Name:
The name on the fallboard and inside the piano that
indicates who made the piano.

Size:
This is the length of the piano from the tail of the lid
to the front of the keyboard for Grands. For uprights size is
measured from the floor to the top of the piano.

Model:
This is the model as labeled by the manufacturer.

Age:
As determined by looking the serial number up in the
Pierce Piano Atlas.

Finish: The exterior
color, sheen and wood grain (if applicable) of the cabinet. For
example "High Gloss Ebony" indicates that the finish is a
glossy sheen, and the color is black.

Style:
The shape of the cabinet and any ornamentation on it.
"Traditional" refers to the classic piano style that has
been used for the past 100 years, with little or no
ornamentation. Other cabinet styles can be "French
Provincal", "Queen Anne", "Victorian", etc.

Country:
This is the country in which the piano is manufacturered.

On: This indicates that the piano has an additional feature, such
as a silent playing mechanism, a player unit, etc.

Quality:
This is the rating the piano receives when measured against the
Piano Finders Standard. Quality refers to the quality of the piano's
design and construction. Pianos are capable of receiving up to 100% on
the scale they are being measured against. When reading this rating,
it is important to note what scale the piano is rated on, as this will
affect the meaning of the number. For example a piano measured
against the PFS scale of All pianos might be 30% and on the PFS scale
of 5'&Under pianos, it might be 60%. The percentage signs

Tone:
This is the rating the piano receives when measured against the
Piano Finders Standard for Tone. Tone refers to the sound of the

Touch:
This is the rating the piano receives when measured against the Piano
Finders Standard for Touch. Touch refers to the way the piano
feels to a pianist and how well it responds to the touch. For

Piano Finders Standard for Durability. Durability refers to how
long the piano is expected to last before major parts replacement or
