1)      What is the service?

A comprehensive appraisal based upon a condition report either done by one of our technicians, by you, or by one of your technicians.  It includes answers to the following questions:

  • What type of repairs and improvements that are possible to bring it up to it’s potential and how much those repairs will cost.

  • How much life is left on the existing parts.

  • Values for their piano including replacement (for insurance purposes), current market value (for selling or buying),  wholesale (for working with a dealer or broker) and value after improvements (for considering whether or not to do repairs or improvements).  

  • Age and some information about the manufacturer.

  • Answers to specific questions you have about the piano and your situation are included in the consultation that accompanies the appraisal.
     

  • Our opinion about the piano's investment potential

If you are considering repairs or improvements, Piano Finders can complete any repairs that are mentioned on the appraisal for the price they are mentioned for  the report is completed..  The repairs will be performed professionally, at no greater expense than indicated on the appraisal for up to 90 days after the date.

2)      How long will it take for Piano Finders to complete this service?

3-7 days from the date we receive the report on the piano's condition.  We will be sensitive to people’s needs for a quick response when they have only a short time to make a decision about a piano.  There may be an extra fee for a rush to be placed on the order.

  • If you just want a dealer to make a bid on your piano.  But you should note that when you don’t pay for an appraisal or a Ballpark Pricing Service from us, then you may sell the piano for less than the dealer might be willing to offer you, if you had been more informed.  The dealer’s interest is to obtain the piano for the lowest price possible.
